Hunter
The Hunter Harvest initiative is part of an agritourism project established in the Hunter and launched at Field Days 2002. The project is jointly funded by the Department of Transport and Regional Services under the Dairy Regional Assistance Program and the Department of State and Regional Development.
The project aims to develop and enhance further agricultural production in the Hunter by encouraging boutique product development, production and marketing. It will also work to promote the Hunter as a destination for agritourism.
At present the project concentrates on the Dungog region, with the longer term intention to expand across the Hunter.
The Hunter Harvest Farm Gate Trails Map is also known as the Dungog and District Tourist Map and is currently available through the Dungog & Maitland Visitor Centres or on the website www.hunterharvest.com.
The Hunter Harvest Farm Gate Trails Map provides producers interested in selling from the farm gate the opportunity to be included in the marketing and promotion of our local area.
The Hunter Harvest Farm Gate Trails Map is designed to be a guide for people interested in a day out or a weekend away. It points out the major tourist attractions such as Barrington Tops National Park and local historic sites such as Tocal Homestead.
The Hunter Harvest Farm Gate Trails Map leads people to these attractions past our Farm gate Producers and providing a day out that can include activities, places to stop to eat, taste and buy from our unique gourmet or boutique producers.
